This is my first time requesting a translation. Please tell me about the translation procedure.

A.

Processes after the receipt of your inquiry generally include: quotation, order placement, translation, translation checking, (layout editing), delivery, and answering questions about the deliverables. A staff member will be assigned to your translation project to manage its progress throughout the processes. Please be assured that your order will be handled smoothly. How long will it take from order placement to delivery?

A.

The lead time to delivery depends on the number of characters, contents, and structure (layout) of the documents, as well as the translator’s schedule. If you have a request for a specific date of delivery, please let us know when you request a quotation. We will inform you of the date of delivery after receiving and reviewing the documents to translate. Contact us first by phone or email.

Q.

I want the translation as quick as possible. How long will it take and how much will it cost?

A.

The lead time to delivery and cost depend on the number of characters, contents, and structure (layout) of the documents, as well as the translator’s schedule. We can make a firmer estimate of the lead time and cost if you can send us the documents at the quotation stage. An extra charge may apply depending on the volume and the desired date of delivery.

What information is necessary when requesting a quotation for translation?

A.

Please let us know the following information: language pair (e.g. from Japanese to English), type of document (e.g. technical document, contract document), format of original document data (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, paper-based), desired format of translated document (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint), version of data (e.g., Office 20XX), and desired date of delivery.

Which file formats do you accept?

A.

We mostly translate Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents. Please contact us about translation of documents in other formats. Please note that we may not be able to accept special document formats.

Q.

Can you edit translated documents to the same layout as the original documents?

A.

Yes. We can edit translated documents to the same layout as the original documents. (We call this task “layout editing”.)
Please let us know if you want your document edited when you request a quotation.

I have English documents. Can I ask your native English speakers to proofread them?

A.

Yes. We have a proofreading service by native English speakers.
If you have a completed English document and a corresponding Japanese document, please also provide the Japanese document. Please feel free to contact us about the service.

Can you unify the terms and expressions with other documents that I have?

A.

Yes. If you have special term lists or reference materials for translators, please send them when placing an order. If the translator decides that the specified terms or expressions are not the best choice, or may not deliver the correct message, we will contact you to discuss the use of such terms and expressions.

Will I be able to ask questions or make requests after reviewing the translation results (after delivery)?

A.

Yes. We’d like to meet your requirements so that you are satisfied with our deliverables. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or requests for revision. Please note that an extra charge will be applied if you update the original documents or provide us with term lists after the translations have been delivered. Please make sure to give us instructions before placing an order. (An extra charge may be applied if you update the original documents or provide us with term lists after the order has been placed)

How can I request a quotation for an interpretation service?

A.

We have a list of information we need to prepare a quotation. Please fill out and submit the Interpretation quotation request form.

Q.

What information is necessary when requesting a quotation for interpretation?

A.

Please let us know the following information: the date you need the interpretation service, type of interpretation (e.g. consecutive interpretation, simultaneous interpretation, whispering), language pair (e.g. Japanese and English), type of event (e.g. meeting with client, seminar, sales negotiation), and location.

Can I cancel the interpretation service after placing an order?

A.

A cancellation fee will not be charged if you cancel the service 11 business days before the day of the interpretation or earlier. However, if you cancel the service 10 business days before the day of the interpretation or later, we will charge a cancellation fee.

Q.

Can you also arrange the equipment for interpretation?

A.

Yes. We can arrange both interpreters and equipment. In that case, an equipment fee will be incurred in addition to the interpretation fee.
The necessary equipment varies depending on the number of people who need the interpretation service or the size of the meeting. Please fill out the interpretation quotation request form to give us detailed information.

Q.

How do you manage confidential information?

A.

To offer our services to our customers, we assign a confidentiality management supervisor and appropriately ensure confidentiality of information provided by customers.
Documents provided by customers for business use are copied or printed only when it is necessary within the project, and the documents are handled with extra care.
The provided documents for business use, reference materials, and the like will be properly disposed of after the job is completed, under strict supervision of the confidentiality management supervisor.
If you would like us to sign a separate non-disclosure agreement, please let us know.
